Looking for somewhere friendly to play Pokémon in Crewe? Whether you are brand new to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, building your first deck, returning after a break, or already plotting world domination one Prize Card at a time, The Lizards Lair Gaming Co is the place to be.
We run regular Pokémon sessions every week, with casual games, friendly advice, deck building help, and Pokémon Professors on hand to support new and experienced players.
No scary gatekeeping. No need to know every rule. No need to have the “perfect” deck. Just bring yourself, your cards if you have them, and a willingness to learn. The dice may betray you, but we will not.

Tuesday Pokémon Night
Every Tuesday from 6:30pm
Join us every Tuesday evening for Pokémon battles, casual games, trading, deck testing and general card-based chaos.
Tuesday nights are ideal for players who already know the basics, anyone wanting to improve their deck, or beginners who want to watch, learn and ask questions in a relaxed environment.
Friday Pokémon Night
Every Friday from 6:30pm
Start the weekend properly with Pokémon at The Lair.
Friday Pokémon is perfect for friendly matches, improving your game, meeting other local Pokémon players, and getting help with your deck before it is sent into battle like a tiny cardboard army.
Whether you are playing for fun, practising for events, or just want an excuse to escape the house and shuffle cards dramatically, you are welcome.
Trading Card Academy
Every Saturday from 2pm
Our Trading Card Academy is designed for new players, younger players, families, and anyone who wants to learn how trading card games work.
Come and learn to play Pokémon and other trading card games in a friendly, beginner-focused session. Our Pokémon Professors are on hand to help with rules, tips, deck building suggestions, and those confusing little moments where a card says twelve things and somehow all of them matter.
Trading Card Academy is a great way to build confidence, meet other players, and learn the basics without feeling rushed.

You do not need to be an expert to join in.
At The Lizards Lair, we believe everyone should feel welcome, whether you have been playing Pokémon for years or you have only just worked out that Pikachu is not, in fact, the name of every yellow Pokémon.
Our Pokémon sessions are beginner-friendly and community-focused. We can help with:

Deck Building Help and Friendly Advice
Got a deck that almost works but keeps collapsing faster than a house made of booster wrappers?
Our Pokémon Professors can offer tips and suggestions to help you improve your deck. We can talk through card choices, energy balance, strategy, combos, and how to make your deck more consistent.
We cannot promise every deck will become unbeatable. We can promise friendly advice, bad jokes, and a much better chance of understanding why your hand contains seven Energy and no hope.
A Safe and Friendly Pokémon Community in Crewe
The Lizards Lair Gaming Co is built around community. We want our Pokémon nights and Trading Card Academy sessions to be welcoming, relaxed and fun for all players.
Our store is a friendly space for children, families, beginners, collectors, casual players and hobby fans. We ask everyone to play fairly, be kind, and remember that it is a game — even when your opponent top-decks exactly the card they needed and you briefly question the universe.
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay, grab a drink, browse the shop, or join in with the hobby chaos.
